The tragedy of menstruation
shitmystudentswrite:
Aristotle would uniterruptedly tell everyone what theatre and tragedy was: catharsis which is a term that can be tied in with tragedy (crying, having your period etc) is a term that Aristotle had come up with and firmly believed in.
This is an example of straight up negligence on the student’s part, but oh man is it hilarious. The spelling mistake/random use of a...

Day 50: complete bucket list
This is a bullshit ending to this challenge, but since I was supposed to finish it a couple of days ago (I think), I’ll just go with it. I can’t guarantee that it will be super long because I’m horrible at figuring out what I want from life. On the real.
Anywho: here it goes…
Write a book
Buy something nice for my parents, grandparents, brother, and other members of my...

Day 49: most awkward moment ever
My life is essentially comprised of awkward moments. It isn’t so much a matter of being super awkward, but more so that I tend to be an oblivious dweeb and, thus, ish gets weird.
Example: I was leaving the gym the day before Thanksgiving and the guy that works behind the front desk was all: “Have a happy Thanksgiving!” Now you may be thinking: how could this possibly be made...

Day 47: write a paragraph to your followers
Dear followers,
I probably know you for real because I have fewer followers on San the Real than I do on san-scrit. Thank you for liking my stuff sometimes and occasionally reblogging me. Also, I apologize for the days that I have been absent from the tumblr. I wish I could be more heartfelt right now, but I feel a little bit like a robot today so I guess I should apologize again for the certain...

Day 46: recommend 2 websites
Apparently some one needs lots of recommendations for ways to distract themselves from real life. I can totally relate.
Moving on, here you go:
For the dudes: Beeradvocate - legitimately the best website for researching all things beer. It’s so awesome, I can’t even tell you. Do they have an app? They should totally have an app…
For the girls: hellogiggles - I’m sorry,...

Day 45: recommend 8 books
This is actually something that I do over at my other tumblr, san-scrit.tumblr.com, so it wasn’t too difficult to figure out which books I should list here. I tried to add some variety/books that I’ve read more recently (I didn’t totally succeed, but also didn’t fail).
Everything is Illuminated, by Jonathan Safran Foer: I don’t care what people say. This book was way...

Day 44: recommend 5 songs
I’m just going to get right down to it:
“Little Talks,” Of Monsters and Men (warning: this song is perfection)
“Houdini,” Foster the People
“Meanwhile, Rick James,” Cake
“The Morning,” The Weeknd
“Barton Hollow,” The Civil Wars
Hopefully you’ll enjoy at least one of these!

Day 43: recommend 10 blogs
Alright, so this is going to be a mixture of independent blogs, vlogs, and tumblrs. I tried to get in a good mix. I mainly read healthy lifestyle blogs, so this was certainly a challenge for me.
Oh No They Didn’t! Seriously, if you want to be in the know about pop culture, this community gossip blog is the best.
vlogbrothers Ever since I discovered these two nerdtastic siblings, I cannot...

Day 40: greatest experience
Living abroad in Florence by far. I’ve had quite a few great experiences, but never have I learned so much about myself and others as I did while living in Italy. It wasn’t just that it was Italy and, therefore, amazing, but also just being so far from home. The experience of being an outsider and a minority was the most thought provoking and revealing that I have ever encountered....

Day 39: write a letter to your future husband
Dear future husband,
Thank you for putting up with my crazy.
To be fair, I probably put up with a lot of your bull, too.
Also, I’m pretty sure that we can both agree that this challenge is the cheesiest ish ever.
Love,
Your future wife.

Day 38: photo of your family & are you close
Honestly, I’m far too lazy to find a photo of my family on my computer (if it even exists, as I am horrible about taking photographs), but I am close to them. I also think that they probably don’t want their picture up on the internet for every one to see, so technically I’m honoring their wishes.

Day 35: are you bored of this challenge?
Not so much bored as I am behind.
On the one hand, I’ve forgotten about posting quite a bit lately, which is kind of good because it’s an indication that I’m a bit busier, which I always take as a positive thing. On the other, I’m glad that it’s stayed in the back of my mind and sort of forces me to continue to update this tumblr. I’m not great at seeing things...

Day 34: favorite store
I am catching up like a fiend today!
Anyways, my favorite store has to be: a bookstore! Preferably of the used variety.
Why? Because I always find something that I want. Added bonus: bookstores all have their own unique feel (excluding chains, obviously), which adds to my shopping/browsing experience.

Day 32: worst thing that has ever happened to you
Ok, so I’m insanely behind on this challenge (4 days to be exact, which is doable, but still quite a lot). Anyways, I don’t think that anything truly horrible has happened to me, personally. I guess developing an unhealthy level of anxiety has been, perhaps, the greatest obstacle in my life, so I guess I’ll go with that.

Day 31: 15 tips for getting through life
I find this challenge to be…odd. I recognize that I’m terribly under-qualified to make this list, but I’ve already dismissed multiple challenges so I feel like I have to do this one. Anyhow, here it goes:
Be honest with yourself and others.
Be kind.
Be polite.
Take it day by day.
Don’t be too sensitive, but be sensitive to others.
Do what you love.
Don’t commit...

Day 30: go to a party or stay home
Always go to the party. Unless, of course, you dislike all of the people going. But even if you dislike 90% of the people going, just go and hang out with the 10% that you enjoy/can tolerate. If you totally hate it, you can leave. If you don’t go at all, you can never get that experience back. In my experience, actively doing things with other people has given me a lot more to reminisce...

Day 29: favorite type of music
While I like all different kinds of music (I’m including country because I have recently found a great liking for The Civil Wars), I think that Alternative/Indie music is probably my favorite, just because the genre leaves so much up for interpretation. What I mean is, music that is classified under these titles provides a vast range of sounds, whereas types of music such as pop, hip hop,...
